We are building maintenance intelligence for the everyday driver.
Gearbox Technologies makes software that helps people care for their vehicles before small problems turn into expensive ones. GRBX, our first product, is in drivers’ hands today. Here is where we stand, where we are headed, and why the timing works in our favor.
Car care is a timing problem, not a complexity problem.
The repairs that hurt drivers most are rarely exotic. They start with fluids and parts that were due for attention and never got it. The knowledge to prevent them exists, but it is scattered across receipts, stickers, and memory, so it gets missed.
American drivers collectively neglect more than $60 billion in necessary maintenance each year.
The most common failure point in National Car Care Month inspections, ahead of every other system.
Close behind, with brake fluid at 23%. The same routine items show up year after year.
None of this requires a mechanic to explain. It requires someone, or something, that remembers what is due and tells the driver before it becomes a breakdown. That is the job GRBX does.
GRBX is live, and it does three things well.
A consumer app for iPhone and the web that keeps maintenance organized, warns drivers before service is due, and answers questions about their specific car in plain language. The guidance runs on a model we built in house, tuned for how real owners ask about their vehicles.
Intelligent tracking
Every service, recall, and routine item lands in one timeline per vehicle, so a household can see what was done and what is coming without digging through paper.
Preventive alerts
GRBX flags what is due before it is overdue. Drivers act on the cheap version of a problem instead of the costly one.
AI guidance
Ask about a noise, a warning light, or a recall and get a straight answer grounded in that car’s history. Drivers walk into the shop already knowing what they need.
The maintenance companion a household trusts for every car it owns.
We start where the information matters most and almost never gets written down: with the owner. As a driver uses GRBX, each car builds one organized record of what was due, what was done, and what comes next.
That record is what makes the long game work. Fewer breakdowns that strand a family, longer vehicle life, and more value kept at resale. Over time it can carry into repair prep, resale, and insurance, but it earns its place on day one by making ownership less stressful.
Where we are, and what we are looking for.
We are raising a pre-seed round. We want strategic investors who understand the size of the automotive aftermarket and who back consumer software built to last rather than to flip. If that is how you invest, we should talk.
We are not chasing a single feature or a quick exit. We are building a category position: the first place a driver checks for anything about their car.
Where we are today
GRBX is shipping on the App Store and the web
Bringing our first drivers on and learning from how they use it
Getting sharper and faster with every week
Two more products, Project Omega and Forge, in development
We are not building another repair marketplace.
